I return to Tanglin today. It does not seem like I took two days off. I already drained my energy.
I am an 11 o’clock opener today. The duties are simple. I need to fill 10 pitchers with ice water, and 5 pitchers with hot water, and 1 pitcher with room temperature water. These are to be done on the second floor and my area is on the first floor. I need to fill 2 bowls with hot water (to be used for teaspoons). I need to fill two ice buckets wit ice. I need to fill a basin with soap water (only two ice bucket amount of water). I need to get pork and beef lard, herb butter, butter packs, cube butter, salad, bread, and condiments (sour cream, chives, bacon bits, ming sauce, tartar sauce, and horse radish). If the mustard is not yet out, I need to get that and the milk as well.
After acquiring everything, I need to bring these items to two section counter. One counter is near the kitchen and the other is near the entrance door. I also need to bring some of these items to the wagon and to the bread counter. After setting the section counters, I need to fold all the table napkins left. I forgot to indicate that I only need to do the setting for 20 minutes. The rest of my time before the briefing is for folding table napkins. I don’t know how many table napkins I need to fold. I haven’t tried counting them. But the table napkin is good for one day’s operation whether busy day or lean day. Tavern has around 34 tables and the seats vary. Minimum seats per table are two, which is about 5 tables only. Maximum seats per table are five to six. Most of the table are four seats. The number of seats in the bar is different and they also use the napkins. So, just imagine how many napkins are used everyday!
Afternoon shift is quite slow. There is only a few number of people even though it is FRIDAY. I am actually surprised that I returned back to work on a Friday! However, during the night shift there are so many members coming. The waiting list is almost full. We cannot actually accommodate everyone. We even have to stay for a few more minutes to be able to help with them. Karlaine, who is supposed to go already by 22:30, is not allowed to go. She stayed until 23:00. I just realized tat we are working until this late. I am thankful tat I am used to sleeping late.
